Welcome!

I have found the greatest level of happiness and fulfillment occurs when helping someone in need (seniors in particular).   I love to see their eyes light up with warmth, gratitude, and life.  This has always given me a sense of purpose.   In retrospect, I’m not sure who benefited the most !   As a result; I have always wanted to build an organization, for social good, that bridges our cultural and generational differences.

Over the next 20 years, our communities will be facing a huge increase in the older adult population and diversity.   The baby boomers are expected to have a significant impact on our local service programs and resources.  This growth combined a scarcity of resources, can lead to increased senior isolation.

Another trend is the level of social engagement within our young adults.  This generation is becoming increasingly aware of the environment and social issues facing society.  They are also exhibiting a passion for community involvement that has not been experienced in our neighborhoods for decades.

Significant research supports both of these trends and, in many cases, it is change that becomes the catalyst for new ideas.

It is my pleasure to introduce you to SageSource!  SageSource was founded to help make a difference in our communities and address these trends with a grass roots, personalized solution.

We strive to deliver community powered programs and technology enabled services that address the needs of our diverse, older adult population while serving as platform for showcasing the talent of our next generation of social entrepreneurs.  Our programs are designed to enable us to gain deeper perspective, knowledge and understanding in regards to the requirements of our communities.  The wisdom gained will aid in the development of new programs to address unmet needs and foster healthy, vibrant communities.

Over the last several months we have researched, discussed and validated both our strategy and model.  Soon we will be launching our pilot programs in the San Jose community.  I will keep you posted with our progress.  Feel free to comment, or better yet, join our team as an agent of social change!
